Ecuador and Colombia are the main rose-producing countries of South America. Top-quality flowers grown there at high altitudes are exported mainly to the US, but also supply the high-end markets in Russia, Europe and Asia. Recognising the commercial importance of this region, Schreurs has established subsidiaries in both Ecuador and Colombia.
Schreurs Colombia S.A.S.
Schreurs first began operating in Colombia, through local representatives, in 1997. In 2009 we took a key step in increasing our involvement there by forming a company of our own, Schreurs Colombia S.A.S. This decision to invest in our future in Colombia represents a vote of confidence in the solidity and importance of this market. We have now purchased 6 hectares of land in Tocancipá, of which 4,000 m2 have been planted for our showroom greenhouse and 5,000 m2 for eye material.
Since both the climate and market requirements are different from those in Ecuador, we have decided to carry out extensive testing in Colombia as well.
Giovanni Ardila was assigned to set up the new company. He and his team of professionals have begun enthusiastically and are ready to serve their clients in any way they can.
Giovanni Ardila, General Manager - Schreurs Colombia:
“We aim to satisfy the specific needs of our Colombian clients, so the relationship with them is very important for our team. We look forward to welcoming you at our farm!”
