The production of high-quality roses starts with high-quality young plants. As well as a breeder, Schreurs is also a first-class propagator of young gerberas and roses plants.
Producing plants of the finest quality is like top-class sport: a combination of talent, technique and training. Combining more than half a century of experience in floriculture with some of the best, greenest-fingered agronomists in the world today and modern techniques like an advanced fog system and artificial lighting, we are now at the top of our game.
We can supply our parental material in several ways. We normally deliver cuttings and stentlings in rockwool or cocospeat, but are also open to specific requests. We have vast experience in exporting plant material all over the world.
Schreurs Young Plants propagates for Schreurs, but also produces young plants of varieties sourced from other major breeders.
As we are always looking for ways to further improve our products and services, on 1 August 2010 Schreurs joined forces with Anton Verbeek New Roses.
The name of this joint initiative:
Schreurs Young Plants, Powered by Anton Verbeek.
The two companies’ considerable know-how in rose and gerbera propagation has now been brought together at the Schreurs site in De Kwakel. This co-operation will benefit not only our customers, but also to our fellow breeders and their customers, now and in the future. Moreover, the resulting economies of scale will allow us to pay even more attention to improving the quality of our young plant material.
John Kieft, Crop Specialist Schreurs Young Plants:
“The challenge for me at Schreurs Young Plants is to produce young plants of outstanding and consistent quality in high volumes. Growers need to be able to rely upon Schreurs for the very best young plants.”
Schreurs Natal Briar rootstock
At Schreurs we produce our own Natal Briar rootstock in a specially controlled section of our greenhouse in the Netherlands. This ensures that we provide our clients with healthy, top-quality rootstock.
Optional training services
At Schreurs we employ only the best agronomists to supply young plants of the finest quality. And we think these plants should receive the same standard of care once they have been delivered to the client. Only then you can be sure that they will grow out into a healthy, productive crop. To help you achieve that, we can train your agronomists to take care of the quality of the plants and to raise the production to an excellent level. Our optional services in this area range from basic consultancy to stationing experts on site to assist you with every aspect of growing, from nursing the young plants all the way to post-harvesting.

Peter Zethof, Manager Schreurs Young Plants:
“I believe that the success of a variety always starts with a healthy plant. And I strongly believe that this joint initiative will become an authority in propagation as we grow from a strong root system comprising years of know-how!”
