4th of July

On 4th of July every year, Americans of all walks of life look back proudly to the day when they attained independence. This is a day of celebration and merry making, a happy day when the good feeling of freedom and patriotism takes centre stage.

During this day Americans celebrate with barbecues, picnics, family gatherings and much more. As fireworks light up the night and songs of freedom rent the air… the liberty ambiance is captured in the bold radiance of red, white and blue 4th of July flowers!

Just like the colors adorning the American flag; red, white and blue flowers are not just items of beauty and decoration but hold symbolic value in relation to the Independence Day.

Apart from being the color of love, Red is the color of bravery and courage. White signifies Purity and innocence while blue is the color of Justice and freedom. During this day florists have a wide choice of roses and gerberas that they can use in their arrangements to bring out the liberty theme. Roses that can be used include whites such as Tibet!® and reds such as Opium!®. Gerberas that can be used include Shirlaine® and Viviane®.

Borrowing an idea from the umbrella arrangement in this photo by Master-florist Robert Koene, floral designers can use a blue umbrella and decorate it with red and white rose petals so it can go well with the 4th of July theme.

Red, White and Blue flowers are ideal as Independence Day get-together decorative items or gift items to friends and loved ones!
