Impressive, great, unbelievable, creative, wonderful, extraordinary beauty, imaginative masterpiece! These are just but a few accolades and sentiments of applaud coming from enthusiastic visitors who viewed Stef Adriaenssens and his team Fluvium's extraordinary creation with 3500 red gerberas. This floral piece was on display at the Alden Biesen flower arrangement event.

"This monumental project or item is an arrangement of 3500 stems of red gerberas. Gerberas prepared for this undertaking include: Kaiser, Aragon, Antaris, Suri, Rocco.The movement of “The Flight” starts from the container with stems, to the gerberas ‘flying’ to the door, it portrays that the Gerberas are getting away from the greenhouse of the grower to the consumer!”

Stef on the construction:

"The flight simulation is made of a welded steel construction that nicely portrays a fluid flowing motion moving towards the door."

"The Gerberas are all inserted in water tubes piece by piece. The steel structure has wire mesh crossed between so that the Gerberas can be well placed."

"Apart from the preliminary welding process, the production at the site with the flowers was also quite a challenge."

"The ground is completely covered with soil, this gives a beautiful, soft effect."

"Between flowerless stems are stems with flower on top. These are also placed in water tubes that are concealed within a container filled with potting soil."

"All the five Gerbera varieties are processed and merged together. This gives a very nice effect."

"The edges of the steel structure are concealed using Cordyline leaves.”

"The project is undertaken according to plan! The final outcome is 100% in accordance with the expectations!"

In the next room we encounter another masterpiece by Stef and team Fluvium: Woman's Tongue (the main material used in this piece = Sanseveria -> in Flemish and Dutch called 'Vrouwentong' which means Woman's Tongue.)

Stef: "This arrangement is a symbolic representation with pink Cordyline and purple hydrangea. A unique composition of black/purple and pink. Explaining it all, this piece represents women who have sharp tongues in situations where the men would surely wish to tie the tongue to a knot ..... :-))))"

"This is also a welded steel construction created using chicken wire mesh and OASIS® floral foam. The small pieces of Cordyline are first placed and glued together. This was a very labor intensive project!

Stef and his team took upon themselves the decoration of a room: Surrealism in the Blue Salon.

Stef: "A very balanced settlement with Betula and Blue Delphinium. The saw-cut and uniquely shaped birch trees give the composition a weird sort of feeling. It's unreal! In addition, the blue delphinium curtains bring harmony into the room with silk wall coverings."

"The cut birch trees are attached on a wooden slab. The delphinium was hung on a steel frame to the center and suspended on wires with water tubes."
