Tears of Happiness

The church at Landcommandery Alden Biesen was beautifully decorated with White Naomi® and Maroussia® roses.

Robert Koene: "Every marriage starts with a tear!"

"Although the theme this year is all about colour, I've chosen classic white and green wedding decorations in this church. By the way, white is the product of all primary colors. When you mix red, blue and yellow, you get white! So basically white consists of every colour!"

Specifically chosen for this arrangement are conical structures welded in two different formats.

The conical shape symbolizes a teardrop.

Four large formats were used for the altar.

The structures are filled with OASIS® Floral foam

For the church decoration, as many as 7,500 white roses in total were used, most of them in the conical shape.

The big cones each used 750 White Naomi's plugged into the floral foam. The smaller cones each used approximately 300 pieces. There are also countless ivy strands incorporated into the decorations.

The hedera strands are first placed in a water tube before being incorporated into the arrangements.

It was quite a challenge to put the structures in place before starting the decorations!

The church decoration did not consist only of the conical structures. A wide variety of classic and elegant church decorations were also created around the altar. Here, candles are beautifully surrounded by a mass of White Naomi roses.

Beautiful big bulbs of Chrysantimum Feeling Dark Green and White Naomi roses were placed at various points in the church. Once again we can see strands of ivy in the arrangements.

The exterior of the church was also decorated. Here is a large wreath made, again, with a  mass of white roses!

The exterior decoration of the church consisted of a wreath and a huge garland of countless White Naomi® roses.

The altar cloth is transformed into a superb work of art using white rose petals from 250 Maroussia® roses. There are also 800 Stachys leaves pasted with glue onto the linen cloth.

With intense concentration, the rose petals are stuck onto the linen in an elaborate pattern using glue.
